Because they were mad at them for sitting with 'their girls' at the movie theater. It probably didn't help that they were drunk.

What did Ponyboy do bad?

Bob, Randy, and a couple other Socs were drunk that night. Johnny and Ponyboy were at the park and they saw the blue Mustang drive up the gravel road. Johnny got scared so he pulled out his switch blade. They made short conversation, then Ponyboy spit on Bob and the Socs ran after Johnny and Pony. One Soc kicked and punched Pony a couple of times and then joined in dunking Ponyboy's head in the fountain. Johnny acted in self-defense to save his friend, so he stabbed Bob with his switch blade. Randy and all of the other Socs ran off. Ponyboy and Johnny sat there trying to come up with a plan.

Johnny's note to Ponyboy was important for his healing because it showed Johnny's care and gratitude towards Ponyboy. What were some major events in ponyboy curtis life?

Here are some event. Major ones are in bold;-His mother and father died.-When Darry Curtis, his brother, slapped him so hard he crashed down on the floor. This happened because Ponyboy came home late after falling asleep in the lot after talking to Johnny. Sodapop tried to stand up for Ponyboy, but Darry yelled at him. After this, Ponyboy yelled "Don't you yell at him!" then yeah...Darry slapped him hard. Ponyboy then ran out of the house and told Johnny, who was sleeping, "Come on Johnny, we are running away!" Johnny was not reluctant to run away.-When the Socs (the drunk ones; a.k.a. Cherry's ex-boyfriend, Bob) tried to drown Ponyboy.-(very major) When Johnny killed the Soc that was drowning Ponyboy, and was going to beat Johnny up, Ponyboy was so sickened by the dead body of Bob, he threw up. This resulted in Johnny and Ponyboy going to where Dally was, and ask him for advice. Dally gave Johnny a gun, which was loaded, and gave Ponyboy a new, dry, but huge, shirt.-The church fire (the place where Ponyboy and Johnny were hiding) when both Johnny and Ponyboy almost died. Johnny was the one that was injured so badly; his back was broken. Ponyboy knew that if he survived, he wouldn't be able to do anything really.-When Johnny died. It was so sad in the movie when Johnny died after telling Ponyboy to 'Stay Gold, Ponyboy. Stay Gold." I felt so bad for Ponyboy, so that was a big major event in Ponyboy's life.I might've missed some major events. That's all I can think of now. Oh, also when Cherry Valance told Ponyboy she didn't want to see Johnny before he died, that was a major event. I bet Ponyboy was thinking; it was all your boyfriend Bob's fault. ALSO, when Dally died as well. This is my favorite book of all time. I could read it 3 times if I had to it's so good. Stay Gold. :)~KatieHope this helped, and I hope it's not too much info.

What stuff happens on chapter 7 of the outsiders?

The reporters and police interview Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry in the hospital waiting room. Sodapop jokes with the reporters and hospital staff, keeping the mood light with his antics. The doctors finally emerge and say that Dally will be fine but that Johnny's back was broken when the roof caved in. Even if Johnny survives, they add, he will be permanently crippled. The next morning, Ponyboy is making breakfast when Steve Randle (Sodapop's best friend) and Two-Bit come in with the morning papers. The papers portray Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally as heroes for rescuing the schoolchildren. They also mention Ponyboy's excellent performance on the track team and in school. The papers mention that the state will charge Johnny with manslaughter and send both Ponyboy and Johnny to juvenile court, from which Ponyboy might be sent to a boys' home. The other boys reassure Ponyboy that his family will stay together. Ponyboy tells them he had his recurring nightmare-which first occurred on the night of his parents' funeral-the previous night. He never remembers the dream, but it makes him wake up in intense panic. Ponyboy asks Sodapop about Sandy and learns that she got pregnant and moved to Florida. Her parents refused to let her marry Sodapop because of his age, so Sandy left to live with her grandmother. Sodapop and Darry go to work, and Two-Bit and Ponyboy go to get Cokes at the Tasty Freeze. A blue Mustang pulls up to the restaurant, and in it they see the group of Socs that jumped Ponyboy and Johnny in the park. Ponyboy feels an immediate and intense hatred for them. One of the Socs, Marcia's boyfriend, Randy, comes over to Ponyboy. Two-Bit reminds him that no fighting is allowed before the rumble, but Randy says he wants only to talk. He asks Ponyboy why he saved those children and says he would never have thought a greaser could do such a thing. Ponyboy says that it didn't have anything to do with his being a greaser. Sick about the violence and Bob's death, Randy says he does not intend to fight at the rumble. Randy explains that Bob was his best friend, a good guy with a terrible temper and overly indulgent parents. Ponyboy feels reassured by his talk with Randy and realizes that Socs can be human and vulnerable.
