Egypt is mainly desert because the latitude of Egypt is where dry air is descending. and the weather systems included in that air move from west to east across the north part of Africa. By the time they reach Egypt what water they did contain has already been precipitated.

Most of Egypt is desert, because there is not much rain. It is natural, because of the weather and conditions; plus there is no water. In the morning it is very hot and at night it is very cold.
