Private Colleges are not following AICTE guidelines because AICTE guidelines aren't that great simply! Being a government set up organization they cannot become dictators of education. Education is boundary less and I think many private universities and colleges that don't follow their guidelines have much better education style and infrastructure than the ones who follow it. They are rigid with the pattern. Although people talk all sorts of things about private education in India, I think it is a very effective system. Look at Amity University in Noida/NCR, just go and attend few classes there and then attend classes at any well renowned government institution, I bet you will praise private education.
Its time to appreciate the role of so many private institutions who are doing something that Government can never achieve. I don't know why do we have to have everything public. I mean having private sector presence in each and every sector induces competition, which results in improved quality and provides adequate opportunities for everyone in the nation. For example, India today has cheapest call rates, that is all because of private sector. Look at airlines in India, the cheapest tickets in the world, all because of private. I am waiting for the day when India will have 100% Open and liberal markets and sectors, and government will only focus on fiscal, monetary and public policies and leave all the work for the citizens of our great India.
