Will the second Simpsons movie end the Simpsons?

No one can possible answer this question. The series finale of The Simpsons is still a long way from being written. The show won't end until at least May 2019 & that's assuming it doesn't get renewed again.

In 2013, Al Jean said there are no plans for a second Simpsons movie while the show is in production so technically, Yes a second Simpsons movie would in fact, mean the the series had ended, but it wouldn't be cause & effect.

They aren't going to make/release a second movie & then end the series.

The series will have ended first & then (presumably) another movie will be made.

It wouldn't necessarily mean THE end of The Simpsons since more movies could be made after that, but that's complete speculation at this point in time (June 2014)

Matt Groening believes by season 30 at least it'll finish and he's the creator although he's not got as much control as he used to so he might not be correct anymore. Most likely it'll be when the whole cat decide to stop making money from the Cartoons etc and rely on other bits of the Simpsons' franchise i believe
