Well Im not quite sure if it will 100% be turned into a movie yet the fact that Warner Bro's has the rights to the book and to make it into a movie. Then its quite likely it will be turned into a movie. Hoped this helped.

yes but...The film rights have been picked up for the novel "House of the Scorpion". The studio Warner Bros. Pictures now owns the rights to the book written by Nancy Farmer.

yes they are, according to the authors site, she is writing the sequel now and she expects it to take a year to complete, and another year to go through the editing and publishing process.
