In February 2012, it was confirmed that Michael Bay will direct a fourth installment in the series and it is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 27, 2014. As was the case in the last two films, the script will be written by Ehren Kruger, and it has been confirmed that Shia LaBeouf's character will not be returning this time.
