Sound like you need the Cps (Crank position sensor), it is located on the driver side top of the transmission housing and it is very hard to get to, unless you have a very small, long arm or lower the engine/transmission assembly. But before you think that this is the problem, make sure you have fuel at the fuel rail by checking at the valve that look like a car tire's valve at the injectors fuel rail. If no fuel there, try to listen for the fuel pump for two seconds when you just turn the key to the on position without starting the car, if you hear the pump pumping, then you may really need that Crank position sensor.
If it is a manual, you put the correct fluid in it. If an automatic, do not start the engine. You need to drain it out of the transmission.
yes
i had the same problem in my 96 jeep Cherokee check to see if your auxilary fan is shot if you are undable to tell just simply unplug the fan and give it a shot this solved my problem
Generally when the crank sensor goes out the engine will not start. The sensor on almost all vehicles is located in the front on the engine near the belts. In most cases it is held in place by a bolt.Usually they can be hard to get to.
I just had the same problem with my '91 wrangler. It would sputter after it was warm and then not start once engine was off. I had to let it cool down for a good 2 hours. It was electrical. I needed a new crank shaft censor. After that she ran like an angel. I also got an injection flush. Good luck.
Yes. The Crank sensor monitors the position and rotational speed of the engine to determine timing for ignition. if it is not functioning you will get no spark.
probably have a bad crank sensor, so the computer isn't being told when to fire the plugs
probably crank sensor, they are famous for that
The engine needs fuel, compression and spark the run. You are missing one of those.
No, it will crank, but it will not start.
spark? fuel?
the crank shaft sensor is located on the back of the engine on left side above the fly wheel. hope that helps im doing the same thing and this is a comon problem with jeeps. only about 85 bucks to replace it.
crank or cam shaft position sensor is sometime the issue.it will not fuel if it cannot find the position of the cam or crank
on the 4.0 jeep, if it cranks, but wont start, try replacing the crank sensor, located at the top rear of the engine, at the transmission
IF NO CHECK ENGINE LITE WITH KEY ON AND KEY IS LEFT ON FOR 5 TO 10 MIN THHE COMES ON AND U HEAR RELAYS CLICK GAURANTED BAD ECM USUALLY HAPPENS IN COOLER WEATHER
Yes it can
Bad crank position sensor
