my '94 grand 'kee has a similar problem. The warning tone comes on and STAYS ON, even though the dashboard diagnostic display doesnt show anything is wrong. It will cut out intermittently, and then quit for no reason after about 20 minutes. Drives my wife nuts. ( I drive a Ford Ranger lol)
It could be that the window motor has stopped working.
Bad sending unit in tank.
that would probably be the transmission. It may not qite be working right.
