I have 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a similar problem. i found that wires between the body and the door on the drivers side were all broken. I spliced the wires back together again and everything works fine.
Had similar problem on my 2000 model! Try checking the black wire which is the earth which runs between the door and A post it's covered by a black rubber sleeve with other wires runnung through it. This is the thickest wire and with the door opening and shutting and flexing the wire it will eventually break.
