As a possible theme song for their second movie which at the time was provisionally titled 'Eight Arms To Hold You'. Neither Lenno or McCartney were particularly pleased with the result. There is no connection between "Eight Days a Week" and "Eight Arms to Hold You". "Eight Days a Week" was based on a comment made by Paul's limo driver about how hard he was working. John's explanation in his 1980 Playboy interview was a lapse in his memory. Even though "Eight Arms to Hold You" was the working title of their second feature film, neither John nor Paul ever attempted to write a song with that title, and because "Help!" was an oft-spoken line from the movie, it was easier to change the title of the movie and the subsequent song. The title "Eight Arms to Hold You" had a double meaning: It was the total number of Beatle arms, and also was supposed to be the number of arms on the idol that Klang and his congregation worshipped in the film. Strangely, pictures of the idol show a total of 10 arms! MP
