the inside of them is usually regular steel, the outside it depends nickel is very common , steel or bronze wrappings.

Nylon strings are lower tension in comparison to steel strings and have a warmer tone than steel string, thus making steel strings higher tension than nylon with a brighter tone than nylon strings.

Can you use light guitar strings on an electric acoustic?

You shouldn't do this. They have different types of strings for a reason. But if you're still insistent upon trying it, make sure you have a professional guitar tech do this for you, because chances are, even if you use the exact same gauged strings, you will have to have your truss rod readjusted, which will cost more than buying strings that are made for an electric guitar.

How any strings are on a guitar?

A normal Acoustic/Electric guitar has 6 strings, and a normal bass guitar has 4 strings. There are also guitars with more strings, i.e. a bass guitar with 5 strings.

Why does the electric guitar have steel strings?

the insides of the strings are steel because they are a strong metal and it is magnetic so the magnets in the guitar pickups will you guessed it ...pick it up. the core metal tends to stick to steel but what the strings are wound with around can be nickel , bronze (acoustic strings) or just more steel depending on the sound. Steel is the highest sound , bronze is the lowest. the pro to using nickel is your guitars frets (metal that you press down to achieve notes) will last longer than with steel. Nickel strings tend to be cheaper and best of all 90% of strings are nickel.

How are electric guitar strings different from acoustic guitar strings?

Electric guitar strings are typically made of steel and have a thinner gauge compared to acoustic guitar strings, which are usually made of bronze or phosphor bronze. Electric guitar strings also have magnetic properties that allow them to be picked up by the guitar's pickups, producing a louder and more amplified sound. Acoustic guitar strings are designed to produce a more natural and resonant sound without the need for amplification.
