Most pocket trumpets are little more than novelties, but for something actually decent, Kanstul is probably one of the best.

Mendini and Cecilio are both junk brands. Buying one of their horns is a waste of money unless you're only planning to use it as a novelty.

Which pocket trumpet is better Cecilio or Rugeri?

First of all pocket trumpets are mere novelty instruments and should not be used as teaching tools. However, there are some companies who have spent time and effort in developing thier pocket trumpets. Companies such as Jupitor, Allora or any other BIG brand names that are familier in the music world as Professional Grade Quality instrument manufacturers. These brands however, will leave a big hole in your pocket. Cecilio pocket trumpets may be cheap but the metal that makes them up are a combination of Lead and copper which are unrepairable in the face of instrument repair companies. Rugeri i am not sure of. So unless someone tells you other wise go for the big brand names or maybe if you want to use them as novelty items pocket trumpets are a great eye catcher

Do trumpets have lead in them?

Definitely not modern trumpets and old trumpets probably didnt either. Lead is a heavy metal and would not resonate as good as lighter metals will.

Are D'Luca trumpets good?

Yes, they are great instruments. The D'Luca 500 series trumpets are very good student trumpets. All pistons are made of stainless steel, quality brass and quality cases. I have had for 5 years with no problems.

They can make good trumpets, but most of there trumpets are best used for beginner players. I highly recommend Bach especially the Stradivarius.

How much does a mini trumpet usually cost?

They are normally called pocket trumpets rather than mini trumpets but they are exactly the same size and length of tubing as a normal trumpet except they are tightly coiled. The price range for these can be from £2000 to around £100. Anything below £300 is definitely a student or intermediate instrument cheaply made in China or worst case India. John Packer make a reasonable pocket trumpet. It's made in China but JP make sure the quality is good. Pro instruments can be any price.

Are pocket trumpets cornets?

No. A cornet is like a trumpet, except that the tubing gradually gets wider from the leadpipe all the way out to the bell (the trumpet has a fixed-width bore). A pocket trumpet is just a trumpet with very tightly wrapped tubing.
