Open the engin hood of your 1993 Grand Jeep Cherokee 4-L 6-Cylinder; the DRL Module is directly behind the battery, under the box with fuses (actually attached to the bottom of this box).
Yes. They work fine if the lights are off (ie. during the daytime) but when the lights are on all the brake lights are off. Our Grand Cherokee has tons of problems. The ac sometimes does not work, the gauges go crazy, the power windows play dead sometimes. We got it checked out. Mechanic says our body control module is going bad.
There is a chime module but if it is disconnected may also affect the interior lights.
AnswerThe Daytime Running Lights module (DRL) is located behind and below the radio in all Gen 1 Neons (at least the Canadian versions). Remove the console faceplate by just pulling it off. Remove the Radio with a 10 mm socket. You may be able to continue without unplugging the radio, but it's easier to access if you do.The DRL is bolted on an angle to the lower rear of where the radio sits. Two 10 mm bolts also hold it in place, you will be easily able to see the left hand one.. the right will be more difficult. Both can be accessed by inserting your 10 mm socket on and extension through the bolt access holes under the radio housing. Be careful not to lose the bolts when you've released them, as fishing them out from the shifter console will be annoying at best! The DRL is connected by one large rectangular connector... it just unclips and pulls off. You will lose your daytime running lights and High Beam indicator once removed, however all other headlight functions will remain.
The switch should be the same as your headlight switch. If not then you will either need to install your own switch for the running lights or buy a new OEM switch module.
The 98 did not come with daytime running lights. It did in Canada and the module is under the left front fender beside the light.
You need to replace the daytime running lights control module

If you live in the United States, your Intrepid will not have running lights. If your car is from Canada however, it will. Either way, the Daytime Running Light module is in the relay box under the hood, on the right hand side
I've had this problem recently. You need to replace your daytime running lights module. it should be located on the drivers side of the car in just in front of the front tire (it is where it is on the '92)
