If the compressor is locing up I belive you have two choices (1) look on the belt routing digram under the hood I belive it shows belt routing without ac unit, I think you can buy a belt for a non ac Jeep & just route the belt to bypass the ac unit-you will have to try it! (2) in the power box you could remove the ac relay to stop cycling of the compressor. as long as the clutch free wheels this will work, I have done this myself without short term issue.
