Absolutely. KeVin Toronto Most people I know realize police can hide around anything or even be in a parking lot and it's their duty to catch speeders. Sorry to say I hope the police officers laid a good ticket on you because it's guys like you that think you own the road and end up killing someone. Nice try!

Not usually, it depends on the circumstances.
Defining private parking lot is the question here... The jurisdiction extends if the parking lot is regarded as a public access way... i.e. a mall, a hotel driveway, restaurant parking lot. A true private parking lot is a lot where access is limited by invitation or a private residence.
If you are violating a parking law, absolutely. The officer may just ask you to move the vehicle but that is only at his discretion. If he chooses to, he may write you up for any violation you are making.
No.
yes seeing i knew an ex-cop and they pretty much have the right to do wateveer they want to so looks like you can get a ticket NO not if it is your private property or you have permission to be on the property.
Absolutely not ! No matter which country you're in - if the officer is off-duty - they're just another civilian, with no more jurisdiction to issue parking tickets than you or I. However they can make a note of your violation and either pass your details on or process your violation citation/ticket when they are back on duty.

A police officer can give a ticket for anything you do that's in violation of the law on the road, littering or grafitti.
In the State of Connecticut, can a cop give you a ticket if he didn't pull you over on the street? Also he only assumed where he was he didn't see him pull in the driveway. I the owner of the house, want to press harassment charges on him.
