Most Guitars no however you can plug them into an amp and plug the guitar in.
NO you can't and i would not even try!! You could plug them into the amp though!!
The above person is semi correct. For a typical guitar you would have to go through some sort of device (such as an amp) in order to provide power to the headphones, however I have a guitar that I can plug my headphones directly into the audio jack by using an adapter to get the 1/4inch(i think that's right) guitar jack into a 3.5mm jack(used by most headphones) as my guitar has a built in preamp.
Please note this is a custom ordered guitar that I am using.
Yes, you can, although, to my knowledge, only with an iPod Shuffle, or other Ipod with a 3.8mm (1/8"?) headphone jack. First, you need to buy an adapter that connects a male 3.8mm headphone jack (standard) and has on the other side, a male 1/4" jack. You will also need a cord with a male 3.8mm jack on both ends. Connect one end to the Ipod, and the other to the adapter. Plug the adapter into the amp, turn the amp on, and turn on your Ipod to the designated song, and it should play through the amp. You can add effects to songs such as more distortion, chorus, etc. by plugging the adapter to guitar pedals and then the pedals through the amp.
Well, if your thinking that an ipod could possibly power an amp, your crazy. Perhaps if you have some kind of adapter...
yeah they do , the only concern is the amplifiers plug
none, have you ever plugged your headphones staright into a guitar? cant hear anything cuz guitars have no power, its all in the amp

If you plug your headphones directly into your guitar you won't hear anything unless your headphone have some kind of amplifier built into them. You need to plug your guitar into something like a multi effects pedal or an amplifier that has an out put you can plug your headphones into

You could get an audio jack, plug it into your sound out section, then you can plug in some regular headphones(like iPod ones) and you have your electric guitar headset!
