Yes. Your local cable or satellite service provider provides two tuners to your set-top-box. While you are recording one show, tune to the other that you want to watch. Even record two, while watching a previously recorded program. Hope this helps!

Best way to connect your home theater I am connecting my tv DVD player dvr box to a Yamaha home theater receiver and i need to know the best way for quality sound. I have a Yamaha HTR 6130 receiver?

HDMI will give you the best connection. It's a digital connection and not subject to loss like an analog connection. Depending on the age of your equipment, you may not have hdmi. If not, use component (red, blue, and green for video alond with red + white for audio) connections. You didn't say which model Yamaha you have but if it's a newer A/V receiver, you can use it as a switch. Connect all the components to it and then one output to the TV input (again hdmi is best). This will make it so when you turn the receiver to an input, the video will automatically go to the tv. For example, if you put the receiver on DVD, the DVD video show up on the tv. This does mean that you have to have the receiver on to watch tv. I have mine set with hdmi inputs going through the receiver and component input to the tv from the dvr box. That way, if I want to watch the news and forgo the surround sound, you can put the tv input to component and just watch it with the regular tv speakers. If you need hdmi cables, monoprice.com is a good place to look. I have bought many from them and they are very high quality for a low price (around $15 for a 6'. Good luck.

I HOPE THIS HELPS HAHAWatch the shows constantly and if you have TIVO or DVR pause and rewind and pause and rewind and learn your fave dance. The best way to learn the Hoedown Throwdown dance is by watching a video where the dance is broken down into small steps because the real dance goes by so fast. Can you transfer shows from one DVR to another?

You can play a recorded show from one DVR but you cannot play it on another DVR. A DVR works similar to a computer that is not linked to any other computer or the internet. You may record something on a single DVR and the television it is linked to will save the show you want to watch at the particular time it plays. Then you will be able to go back at a later more convenient time and watch the show as you like. But if you two DVRS' in a house, one upstairs and the other downstairs, you can only play recorded shows on the DVR that you recorded the show on.

How To Use Your DVR?

If you have cable or satellite television, then you should seriously consider getting a digital video recorder. You can buy a DVR separately or take advantage of the service that is offered by your cable company. A DVR is one of the best advancements in television in a long time. It allows you to record shows, movies, and sporting events. You can watch them whenever you want. With the number of high definition channels now available, the content on your DVR will be high in quality. Here is a guide on how to use your DVR.The best feature of a DVR is that it can record any show you want. If you have plans on the night your favorite show is on television, you don't have to worry. All you have to do is set it up to record and you can watch it at a later time. A DVR allows you to record a show once or set up a series. You can record new episodes only, any episodes on a given channel, or any episode at any time on any channel. All you would have to do is set it up one time. Once you do that, the DVR will capture your show whenever it comes on. You won't have to worry about forgetting to set it up. One tip is to set your DVR to record an extra minute or two after the scheduled ending of a show. This way, you can be sure you won't miss anything. You can watch your show whenever you want. Best of all, you can skip over commercials.Another feature of a DVR is the ability to pause and rewind live television. Let's say you are watching a football game. If you have to run upstairs, all you have to do is hit pause. Your DVR will pause the game much in the same way a DVD player would pause a movie. You never have to worry about missing anything. If you missed a line on a show, you can rewind to watch it again. A DVR will also let you fast forward through commercials. This will help you catch up after you spent time rewinding. If you have a smartphone, you may be able to set your DVR using that. If you are out and you hear a movie you want to see is coming on, all you have to do is pull out your phone. By logging in to your DVR, you can search for the channel and set your recording. This means that a DVR is truly convenient no matter where you are.

Record to DVD from Comcast?

If you have an external DVD component recorder and a Comcast DVR, just plug the output from the DVR into the input of the recorder. Then you can record your "My Recordings". Start the DVD recorder, then start the saved event. But you will have to leave it unattended, start it when you are not going to watch for the length of the saved event. If you want to record live, it should work the same, but I have not tried it. Just remember that the DVD recorder will record whatever is playing on the screen, so if you change channels or watch a different recording it will record whatever is playing.
