The short answer is yes, she did records (mostly album cuts) done in L.A. for Motown. As to certain titles, which seems to be the bigger question regarding her involvement with Motown, she is most assuredly not the bassist (Bernadette by the Four Tops and I Was Made To Love her by Stevie Wonder are most notable).
Did she record a version of those tunes? It is possible. Did we ever hear her version of these hit recording (She did record I Was Made To Love Her by The Beach Boys for their Wild Cherry (?) Album and my observation of her performance is that she seems to take one verse of Jamerson's performance and try (clumsily) to repeat it over and over. Aside from that instance I have NEVER heard of her version of Bernadette as the only version done by the Four Tops features the brilliant playing of James Jamerson.
