Elliott smith was addicted to heroin and he also abused alcohol. Noted by one of Elliott Smith's close friend's Elliott would smoke up 1,500 dollars worth of heroin a day. Elliott Smith tried multiple times to go to rehab, but he had a hard of doing so. He later ended up becoming clean and lived in an apartment with his girlfriend Jennifer Chiba. After Elliott smiths suicide they did an autopsy and found no trace of alcohol or heroin, but they did find high levels of prescribed Antidepressants, anxiolytic and ADHD medications.
