Yes, his name was Jim Turber (spelling). On their performance of proud mary on the ed sullivan show he was the short white guy. Years later he moved back to St Louis and lived by the airport and in 1993 he was a Pizza delivery driver at what was then Tories Pizza on New Halls Ferry Rd. Jim would often play his saxaphone in area bars at night. He was a very nice guy and he always carried pictures of his time with Ike and Tina Turner and would share them with people.
