Although there is no "official" record of them playing together, there are several bootlegs which claim to contain recordings of Hendrix and Morrison playing together in New York. If they had played together, they would not have been able to sell any recording because of contractual agreements.

They actually did play together once at a club Greenwich Village in the late 60s. Jim Morrison was drunk though.
