Yes, he did but I couldn't find any further information on it at all as to when it was recorded and how it was released. Sorry I sort of answered your question with another question heh. Good luck
It's on "Jimi Hendrix" "In the Beginning", released 1972 by Shout Records, Atlanta, Georgia. Tracklist: Hey LeRoy, Free Spirit, House of the Rising Sun, Something You Got, Let the God Sing, She's a Fox.
There's also an Australian release with slightly different cover

Couldn't find an album by "Shout Records" called In the Beginning by Jimi Hendrix, so I doubt that information is true (unless someone can scan the album as proof)
The rumor is, is that version is NOT by Hendrix but is by an impostor and was released after Jimi's death.
There's rumor of a rare recording of Hendrix combining "Crossroads" with "Red House", but none that I've been able to find. The original "Crossroad Blues" was recorded and released by delta blues king Robert Johnson in 1937, and I think it's possible you're confusing Hendrix with Clapton, as Cream did put out a cover of the song by 1968, which they only performed live.
It was Bob Gruengood album :)
yes, he wrote most of the songs that he played. he did cover some though I am too lazy to list them. google it.
No, that would be Burton Cummings, and it was written by the Canadian band "The Guess Who" as the title track to their 1970 album "American Woman". Also another cover that people mistake for Jimi Hendrix is the Lenny Kravitz version. Jimi Hendrix did NOT cover this song.
I think Jimi Hendrix used a cigarette lighter to create the slide guitar sound for his "all along the watchtower" cover.

I believe 1) Jimmy Hendrix ; 2)Chuck Berry
Jimi Hendrix and Otis Redding were on the cover with Donovan in 1968. It was the fourth issue of Rolling Stone magazine (January 20, 1986).
Fireheart and Sandstorm.
VooDoo Child (Slight Return), recorded on his 1984 album "Couldn't Stand the Weather"

So that it would match the book better. After it was published they felt like it wasn't a good cover.
