Jimi Hendrix had at least 2 children. He had a daughter who was born in 1966 called Tamika Laurence James. He also had a son called James Daniel Sundqvist who was born in 1969.

Finally coming to the conclusion that Jimi was/is her father! Officially Jimi never had a son, however most of these rumors began in 1995 when a musician called Billy Yeager called himself Jimmy Story, the Illegitimate son of Jimi Hendrix. The idea for the hoax began when Yeager was watching the movie "Tootsie" one night, in the movie Dustin Hoffman plays the struggling actor who can't get a job.

Yeager had been rejected by the record labels for over 20 years even though he was discovered by Grammy Award Winner Bruce Hornsby in 1992.

Yeager forged a mound of evidence and concocted a very complex and convoluted story that took him a year to build up and fabricate. He played his own manager, his own attorney, and placed his own advertisement in the back of Rolling Stone Magazine offering a 50,000.00 reward for any information about the Lost Bolero Tapes, and the lost son of Jimi Hendrix. Soon music magazines and underground fanzines started to write and mention about it, and then Yeager permanently dyed his skin black using Rit clothes dye. The story broke out and Yeager filmed the escapade for over a year and edited into a film called "Jimmy's Story".

The music that he composed however was so authentic that even the experts, people who worked close with Jimi Hendrix were positive that this "lost music" was in fact Jimi Hendrix's last songs he had ever wrote. Yeager had in fact wrote and composed all the music and created a story about a mother named Sunshine who had Jimi's baby in Miami, she was given a box of tapes that he hid for many years and people were after her, because she believed Jimi was murdered and had documents to prove it. Yeager had also studied graphology and earned an official Certified Graphologist Seal to document all of his evidence that was then forwarded to the press.
