It was one of the worst hours of his life. :( John Lennon roughly lived for about 10 minutes after he was shot,but he was barely concious, he died in the back of a police car on the way to Roosevelt hospital. The hospital staff tried to revive him but he was dead on arrival. He was pronounced dead at around 11:17pm on Dec 8th 1980 He was shot at 10:49pm.
He was outside the entrance to his apartment the Dakota on the night of December 8, 1980 at 10:50 P.M. when he was shot 4 times by Mark David Chapman. There were five bullets fired but one of them missed and was going over Lennon's head. It hit the window of the Dakota building where he lived.
