I don't think they did. However according to a book about Chaplin a friend visited him in 1954 in Switzerland and brought him a record of Elvis. His friend said: "This man has made a sensation in the states." "I can't understand it. He wiggles his hips and sings and people go mad." and then Charlie replied: "If he's made such an impact, he must have something. You can't fool the public."
