To be honest it's most probably got nothing to do with Taylor Swift.

Look at it realistically. Why would he write Runaway for someone like her? The song is much too personal and deep to be related to her; and it's implied in the song that he's speaking about someone whom he was in a relationship with, or at the least, close with.

Perhaps, it is some sort of an universal apology. With this song Kanye is acknowledging the fact that a lot of the world thinks he's an a**hole (and this part can be related to the incident with Taylor which caused a lot of this prejudiced hate) but, rather than just acknowledging, he is admitting and accepting it too.

Additionally:

Never was much of a romantic,

I couldn't take the intimacy.

And I know it did damage,

Plus the look in your eyes is killing me.

I guess you knew an advantage,

Because you could blame everything on me.

And I don't know how imma manage,

If one day you just up and leave.

This verse is far too powerful and honest for it to be dedicated to Taylor Swift. Just look at it. It's realistic, heartfelt, and most of all thunderously pained. To think that he dedicated this to a mere celebrity is shallow. It has, indeed, be said that he dedicated a song to Taylor (which she didn't accept) but I highly, highly doubt that it's this one.

Would he really have done a thirty-four minute masterpiece for her? It seems much too superfluous to me.
