Actually, any dog can be trained to be a guard dog, but certain breeds, such as the German Shepherd, Doberman Pinscher, Rottweilers, etc. are large, powerful, alert, looking dogs which (when properly trained) can restrain or deter a person much better than a Chihuahua can!
German Shepherds are very active so you will need to let them walk everyday as a form of their exercise. This breed needs enough exercise and healthy food to be bigger and stronger.
Dobermans were originally breed from German Pinschers, Rottweilers, Beauceron, Pinschers, Greyhounds, English GreayhoundsThe origin of the Doberman Pincher isn't completely traceable. It is thought that dobermans are bread from German Pinchers (very smart breed), German Herd Dogs, Great Danes, and Rottweilers. Of course without knowing for sure, there can be all kinds of combinations. I have 2 dobermans now, and have had 2 others (separate times) in the past. Through my personal research, I find these breeds to be most consistently mentioned in literature about dobermans. - also the breed has changed since it's arrival to America after WWII.
I suppose his parents liked the name. What difference does it make why they named him sigmund.
Dutch is the language of Netherlands, whereas the Deutsch is the language of Germany. They are not the same. The scripts are similar but that does not make them the same. Plus the phonetics and the words are totally different. Dutch is a Low German language, German is a High German language. The High and Low is about geography btw. The main difference, apart from a lot of different words, is the so called High German consonant shift.
No. It is not a brand, it is a stencil piano and only to make the "Kauffmann" rich. Just google translate into German.
In my experience, German shepherds have varying degrees of being affectionate. To their owners/family they can be very affectionate, caring, and gentle. To strangers or not close acquaintances, they can be standoffish and aloof. It depends greatly on that particular shepherds personality and the socialization they receive as they grow up.
Yes, German Shepherds are very intelligent dogs and therefore they are very trainable and that would make them ideal as therapy pets.
Green-eyed German Shepherds are rare and unique due to their striking eye color, which is not commonly seen in the breed. This trait can make them stand out and appear more distinct compared to other German Shepherds with more common eye colors like brown or amber. Additionally, green-eyed German Shepherds may have a more intense gaze, giving them a captivating and mysterious appearance.
Depending on the type of dog individuals value, and the traits they like, German Shepherds make ideal dogs due to their loyalty and willing to please their ONE owner. Therefore most Shepherd owners say GSD's are individual because of these combined traits.
Yes, German shepherds have a particular gene that makes them the best police dog. They do get trained to become more obedient and helpful.

German Shepherds as they are intellegent, loyal and easy to train and Huskies do NOT make good Guides... The slightest distraction could put a Husky off its role as a guide.
