Who is yairi?

(Hiroshi) Yairi is Sadao Yairi's son, and made acoustic guitars under his supervision (and usually signed and/or stamped by S. Yairi)... Sadao was Kazuo's UNCLE, and the brother of Giichi Yairi (Kazuo's Father).S. and H. Yairi marketed under a few names in the US. Yairi & Sons, Kohno, Shelly, and Wilson were the only names this writer could find.Yairi is now the name of the top line of Alvarez guitars. Which is better fender or cort?

Most experienced people would say Cort. Though, asking that question would be like trying to find a difference between a schooner and a pirate's ship because, about 50% of guitars are manufactured in Cort's factories. The difference is that Cort guitars are made with 100% hand selected quality tone wood, and Fenders are made with cheaper, lower quality wood. Essentially, Fender could care less if there guitars were badly made. To make up for their sloppy work, Fender pays artists to use their guitars under contract. Unfortunately, this has caused many people to be "brainwashed" into thinking that Fender is a higher quality. This happens commonly to inexperienced people like, bloggers, amateurs, children and, teens. If you are looking into buying a guitar, don't get a Fender and go with a smarter choice like, Cort.

Do vintage guitars sound better?

depends. Find one and see if u like it. Answer: Like everything hand made is usually best, and the same applies for vintage guitars which were hand made. ========= Not true. Handmade guitars were, in fact, very erratic. It has been noted all across the guitar world that quality control has actually gone up starting in the '90s. While they also say that the best tonewoods have now been used up, manufacturing, craftsmanship, knowledge and standards on current guitars are actually stronger than in the olden days.

Is Yamaha a good guitar?

Not really. They may make nice keyboards, but a keyboard maker is NOT a good guitar maker. I'd suggest a more trusted brand, like Fender or Gibson. It is all a matter of personal preference. For the price, Yamaha is an excellent guitar. I own over 50 Yamaha acoustics from the early red labels to more recent ones. I also own Martins, a Gibson, a Taylor, a couple of Fenders, and a selection of hand made guitars. I don't know who wrote the above answer, but Yamaha is a very trusted name in acoustic guitars. The early red labels are excellent work horse guitars as well as prized collectors. Some of the recent ones I own are outstanding guitars. You can spend a little and get a laminated wood guitar that may be iffy on sound. Or you can spend a little more and get a solid wood guitar that will have a better, stronger sound. If name means more to you than sound, then get one of the composite Martins that have so-so sound. My recommendation is to look around and play different guitars and see what strikes your ear. Don't get hung up on name brands as the only "good" guitars.
