No, contrary to popular belief Manson did not have his ribs removed or his vertebrae removed because it would be impossible for him to walk. But he did have surgery, after a concert in Hawaii where he fell on a sharp object while on stage and split an artery. Also in his autobiography The Long Hard Road out of Hell, he reports that the only surgery he's had, was for his abnormal long ear lobe, which was probably around the late 1980's and very early 1990's.

he used to do it. if you read his book it will talk about him sitting in class cutting up and down his arms with a pocket knife. also when Marilyn Manson and the spooky kids first came out he would often cut himself on stage with broken beer bottles and things like that.
