Yes.

Also, the level of the reed affects the sound. Lower level reeds are easier to play but don't have as good of a tone as the harder to play higher level reeds.

Is the clarinet higher in pitch than the oboe?

No, the flute is much higher than the saxophone and gets up to higher octaves. The most equivalent instrument to it's own kind would probably be the oboe. Piccolo is the highest instrument, which is part of the flute family.

What buttons or holes do you press to play scales on a b flat clarinet like playing high C and low C at the same time?

A third is an interval - the distance between two notes. I would need to know which specific note names you were after. If you are asking about playing notes a third apart at the same time (harmonic intervals) - that is not possible since the clarinet is a melodic instrument, capable of playing only one note at a time.

Is buffet clarinet or noblet clarinet better?

buffet- sound nicer :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I play noblet clarinet. My friend plays buffet. I suggest both because both of them have good quality sound. When I play noblet clarinet, playing the middle Bb and B(not the low) is very hard and the exact right tune won't come out. But the high and and low notes are awesome on noblet. On buffet the B and Bb are alot better then noblet. But the other notes aren't as good as noblet. I suggest noblet but buffet is great too!
