Really, writing music comes in many different ways, but what I think of as writing music would be creating a piece of music totally from thoughts and writing them.
if its an I-Pod and you use windows you can use winamp to copy music to your computer if its an I-pod and your using mac OS you can use music rescue to copy music from an iPod to your computer if its any other mp3 player you can just use any program other than itunes (winamp is great if you use windows)
