Sadly, it does. It's a sad thing because many children like watching TV! But once they're glued to the tube, a child can't stop! I let my children watch 2 hours of television a night, but my husband and I have to approve the show(s). We let them watch movies, as long as the movie doesn't have sex, or cursing. We NEVER watch TV during dinner, and if they're bored we tell them to read a book, or play with some friends. We don't tell them THEY can't watch television, but we encourage them not to do so! Children will want to eat what the see other people eat, like cookies and pizza and chips and soda/pop! And it shows them they can do things that my husband and I don't want them to! And it shows bad grammar because, when the hear someone saying, "Whatever," they'll start saying that too and not typing in full sentences! They get these habits that are VERY hard to break! It's better that they just don't watch TOO much television. But not letting them watch any, is worse! They will be upset with you, and be mad at you!
Comment:I disagree with that last sentence. TV was never a necessary part of one's life. Comment:i disagree with you on the tv part. If we did not have a television we wuold not get the latest news. if we wan't to watch the weather it's only on the radio and they might say ''In the southern part of USA it's gonna rain tonight'' and then you don't know if it's gonna rain in that Texas or Lousiana or Mississippi or Alabama and you won't see the latest products that i selling out so you might see it the next day and u won't get it because it's no more in the store. <--------(writen by kapiton22) Answer:My name is Courtney Gray and this is my opinion. It is up to the responsible parents to limit their children's television. Personally, I think watching television everyday is fine. You just have to limit how much they watch. For example, if your children get up at 7:00 a.m. they should be eating breakfast at 7:20. This gives them time to wash their face and wake up fully. Let them eat their breakfast at 7:20 and watch television at 7:40. Children like to take their time eating their food (aslo playing with it)!! Let them watch televison for about and hour or two. Two hours might seem a lot to some parents but it is o.k. if you take it slowly at a time. Another thing that I'm worried about also is what parents let children watch. Cursing, violence, and gore are meant for people a certain age. Realistic Cartoons are probably the best for children to watch. There is nothing wrong with those fantasy cartoons, but let your children watch something that enlightens them to the real world. Maybe two days out the week they can watch those unrealistic cartoons. My whole point is that watching television is a very good thing for children. It lets them know that things that they never known about are there. Children are true blessings when they came into the world. Don't make your child a sin coming out. Thank you. Comment:I made the first comment, and I must disagree with the second. Newspapers can accomplish much the same things that TV can. Comment:I made the second comment. I must disagree with the third comment. But in our days people learn many things from TV! And if it is a fire in your Neigbourhood on a monday you might not notice it before Thursday when the newspaper comes with the mail!I learned to cook some new meals from the TV and you can learn how to build, repair, plant vegetables or fruit and workout with Wii fitness and Eyetoy or through a Arobics channel on your tv.
Maybe if their parents were make them get off their fat butts and take the chips away they could move. Parents need to wake up and give veggies with no tv.
Comment:PARTLY. If you watch TV very often then you probably will take note to bad language, grammar and manners, BUT diet is a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny bit different. If you watch TV constantly - all the time practically 24/7 - then it'll give you bad health but if you watch a bit of TV and excercise regularly than you won't have bad health.
If you watch TV programs that don't help your brain or body then it's bad. I can't be bothered writing anymore.

Home is the place children first learn manners, so it is important to practice good manners in the home. Children will carry these manners outside the home. Between husband and wife, please and thank you foster respect. So, yes, good manners should be practiced within the family.
