The first, I believe, was Rosemary Pearson. They met at either Isleworth Polytechnic or Ealing College of Art. But, they broke up because Freddie was confused about his sexuality.
Mary Austin was his girlfriend for 6 years and remained his best friend for the rest of his life. She was Queen guitarist Brian May's ex-girlfriend. Brian introduced her to Freddie. She worked at the trendy Biba boutique in London, where the Queen boys would go out shopping for clothing. Their relationship lasted from 1970 to 1976, when he confessed to her about his true sexuality. Yet, they remained huge parts of eachothers' lives.
