Honestly? Please bring it to a certified Flute technitian. The flute is amazingly mechanical and very complicated. Any slight mal-adjusted can throw off the adjustment of the entire instrument.
I suggest you find a musical instrument store that can repair instruments. That's how I got my flute's problems fixed. You must be aware though, that they will receive a bill to pay for the repairs.
If you are asking this because you plan on repairing it yourself, which I'm severely hoping you are not, please do not try. I've been playing the flute for six years and have tried to repair my flute a couple times and everytime it ends up with a long trip to a shop. Save yourself the time and effort and just take it down there unless it is something like a loose screw, which you just put back in, or binding keys. For binding keys I recommend using a TINY amount of slide oil from a french horn player, and put it on the bars where the key is binding. Once you have done that just work the key for a while until it starts to move easily. Other than a binding key, please do not try to repair it on your own.
you have to bring it to a shop where they do it
that is depending how bend it is.
if it is just dented then it might be a bit sharp but it should still work fine.
you use a Q-tip
the alto flute
a harmony flute is like a bass flute or an alto flute meanwhile a regular flute is anything other than those types : )
Alto flute has a lower pitch than a normal flute.
Flutes and Piccolos don't use reeds. Also for E.C., an oboe doesn't use a reed either. :)
There are many members of the flute family. Here are three:1. The concert flute-the flute you would normally play on in band, etc2.The piccolo- practicaly a mini flute with some changes.3.The alto flute- a flute that curves at the mouth piece and is tuned a 4th lower than the concert flutePiccolo, flute, alto flute, and bass flute
Without looking at the flute and seeing what condition it is, you cannot fully say what it is worth. Bring it into music shop and ask them. They usually have a blue book and repair technitions on hand to look at instruments and appraise them.
Piccolo flute, C flute (^^), alto flute, bass flute, and contra-bass flute!
