Pete and Joe were in a band called Army Angelous, got bored with it, met Patrick, who knew Andy, and they formed Fall Out Boy. They started out to be the worst band ever, and just look at them now. They never thought that they would get this far.........

THIS PERSON IS SORTA RIGHT. AFTER PETE AND JOE BROKE AWAY FROM ARMA ANGELUS, JOE MEET PATRICK IN A RECORD STORE AFTER HEARING HIM TALKING ABOUT A BAND THEY SHARED A MUTUAL INTEREST IN. ANDY USED TO BE PART OF ARMA ANGELUS TOO, BUT THAT WAS BEFORE PETE AND JOES TIME.

of course fall out boy is the BEST band ever created.they should have won the nickeloden kids choice award for best male group but the Jonas brothers won(who sucks by the way).they also should have won MTV vma award for best rock video but Linkin Park won(who sucks too).also, Andy hurley is the best(and hottest)drummer!

My nickname is Tiffany so I love the song Tiffany Blews! I also like The (shipped) Gold Standard!

Fall Out Boy was formed by Joseph Mark Trohman and Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III. After playing in various hardcore punk bands in the Chicago area, they wanted to play songs by bands they listened to growing up such as Green Day and Descendents. Trohman met high school student Patrick Martin Stump in a Borders book store. Trohman introduced himself to Stump when he overheard him talking about the band Neurosis, in which they shared a mutual interest. Stump auditioned as a drummer, but as soon as his vocal range was discovered, he became the lead singer. The band was nameless for their first two shows. At the end of their second show, they asked the audience to give them a name. One audience member suggested "Fallout Boy", a reference to the sidekick of the character Radioactive Man from The Simpsons. On January 25, 2009, Fall Out Boy would play the theme ending on The Simpsons.

Fall Out Boy was formed in the small suburb of Wilmette, Chicago. At first it was only Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, and Joe Trohman along with two other guys named T.J. "Raccine" Kunasch and Mike Pareskuwicz who both left in 2003. Andy Hurley drummed part time and then agreed to full time in 2003.

Joe Trohman and Pete Wentz wanted to start a band. Pete Wentz had formerly been in a hardcore band, and Joe thought they should just do a pop/punk sort of band for fun. They weren't really expecting it to go anywhere.

Then, while Joe was in a Border's bookstore, Patrick Stumph overheard Joe talking about the band "Neurosis", which he shared a common interest in. Patrick then struck up a conversation with Joe, and Joe told Patrick they he was starting a band, and asked if Patrick would be interested.

Joe later introduced Patrick to Pete.

T.J. and Mike later joined the band as a guitarist and drummer, but quit before their first tour to go to college.

Andy, the drummer for Project Rocket, (Which Fall Out Boy did the EP/Split with) later joined Fall Out Boy.

Since T.J. and Mike quit, they were one guitarist short, so Patrick learned to play the guitar, and there you have it: Fall Out Boy.

They weren't discovered, actually. They went on as an independent band and signed in with Fueled By Ramen. All of the band's success were purely on their own efforts. No one discovered them; they headlined on their own.

Fall Out Boy capitalised on the temporary pop-emo fad, with catchy, upbeat music, angst-riddled lyrics and attire to relate to Generation Y.
