Well, originally in grammar school John Lennon formed a band call, The Quarrymen. Out of the Beatles The Quarrymen included John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison. After grammar school when the boys were all grown up they ended up in Hamburg, Germany. It was in Germany where they decided to call themselves, The Silver Beetles. In Hamburg the band consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Pete Best, and Stuart Sutcliffe. Later the group replaced the drummer, Pete Best with Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey) and also left behind bassist Stuart Stucliffe. Now the band as we all know and love today is called, The Beatles.
