Well from what i've read Russel is from America and is possessed by a demon and he also is very skilled and was sent to a school for musically gifted then during a drive by all of his school mates exept russel were killed and their souls transfered to him(which is why he can rap, play drums etc. exeptionally and also why you see the big blue monster thing come out of his head in clint eastwood and rock the house) and his mom moves him to England then sends him to the Gorillaz as a respons to murdocs ad for a drummer in the paper and ends up in the gorillaz
