Crows eat many different types of plants and animals. This includes berries, nuts, and fruit, as well as road kill and dead fish.
Crows will eat just about anything. You are bound to find them feasting at fast food restaurant parking lots. They will eat bugs, worms, roadkill, mice, berries, corn, and a variety of other tasty treats. An adult crow needs 11 ounces of food each day. Many people believe that crows damage farm crops. This is not always true. Crows often eat harmful insects, benefitting farmers.

There are many solutions you can use to keep blackbirds away. From simple netting or spikes to more advanced electronic mechanisms, there is no reason you should continue to be hassled by the birds. I suggest you reference Bird-X(www.bird-x.com), a Chicago-based company that specializes in non-lethal bird and pest control. I have had success using them and have found them to be extremely understanding and compliant. Hope this helps, Dan (hyman8@gmail.com)
To befriend a crow it is easiest to start in the winter. Scavangers like crows will have less food then. when some are in tree near your house go out and quietly lay some food such as nuts ,seeds, eggs, wet dog food or corn out. Then return inside. after a while they will start to know that you bring them food. They will learn to trust you. Also they enjoy shiny things so leaving bits of tin foil or garland out might be nice for them. Be sure to leave your gifts to the crows in the same spot. My crow knows my voice. so I can call him. If you would like this, before you leave food, talk out loud for a few seconds, then leave the food.

Indirectly, yes. But directly, no. To make it simple, all forms of corn cereal come from corn, and corn comes from the ground. So in that way, corn cereal indirectly comes from the ground. But it does not literally grow from the ground. So in the technical sense, we cannot say corn cereal comes from the ground.
