In Switzerland, the Christmas celebration is a lot less 'Santa oriented.' The German and French speaking portions of the country use a baby Jesus, who has a glowing fairy-like appearance as their symbol. Children are told it is the Christ child who brings their Christmas trees and gifts, not Santa. Children are not allowed to see the tree before the actual day of celebration. After an early dinner, everyone gathers around the tree and sings holiday songs.
