yes __________ or you could also install brand new cables all together, but most people opt for the cut & clamp method.
If it is bad enough, if the battery/cables get damaged. Also some cars have special battery terminals that disconnect the battery in a severe crash to prevent fires/etc. BMWs have it, is called the BST (battery safety terminal).
Sounds like the battery terminals need a good cleaning. Pick up a battery terminal cleaner at an auto parts store, or just use a wire brush and take the battery terminals off and give them a good cleaning. Then you should be good to go.
The battery on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is under the passenger front seat.
Under the battery, on the battery tray.
Negative (-)
If the battery has round terminals the positive is the larger diameter of the two
Battery is in the trunk but there is a terminal to jumpstart the car in the engine bay.
It is going to be one of a few things. First thing to check is the battery terminals. Look for loose or corroded terminals at the battery. If after cleaning them with a wire battery terminal cleaner brush, and tightening them it still will not start, have the battery checked to see if it is good. If the battery is good, then have the starter checked.
Two terminals are the battery power supply + - WHILE the 3rd terminal is a signal proportional to battery temperature which can be used to control the battery charger in the event of excessive battery temperature.
Disconnect the negative - terminal first, then the positive + terminal. Unfasten the battery hold down clamp. When reinstalling the terminal connections connect the positive terminal first.
Remove the positive terminal on the battery for 20-30 minutes and then replace the terminal on the battery and tighten the bolt very well. Also, for battery acid build-up on the terminals, pour several cups of boiling water over the battery terminals.
The battery is covered with battery box on the right side. Open the box and it will come off as it is in two parts. Unscrew and remove the terminals. Lift out the battery and replace it with a new one. Put back the terminals and tighten the bolts on the terminal. Replace the battery box cover which should click together once they are properly aligned.

Are you are talking about a dual terminal battery? This battery can be used in a side mount or top mount configuration whichever applies.
Very simple. Just unscrew the bolts on the two terminals, pull it out, remove the battery and after replacing the battery, reconnect the terminals one at a time and tighten the bolts on the terminal.
There are 2 battery terminals. A positive or hot and a negative or ground. The positive is slightly larger than the negative.
