With a scan tool, or unhooking the battery.
The diagnostic code 12 51 55 is actually not a code for the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The 12 means that it has started searching for codes. The 51 is oxygen sensor stuck lean. The 55 means it is finished searching for codes. Getting this means nothing is wrong.
Po122 means the tps/pedal position sensor A has a low circuit output. P1763 is not in my code book. It is a manufactures code and probably means the same thing. You can look it up by typing diagnostic code p1763 in the search line on your computer. Good luck..
I don't know about a Grand Cherokee, but in a 2005 Jeep Wrangler you turn your ignition 3 times with out turning the motor over. Turn your key to start, then off, then start, then off, then start and leave in start position, a code will be displayed in the odometer area. Maybe its the same for a Grand Cherokee. If that doesn't work a scan tool is required.
Trouble code P0132 means: O2 Sensor (B1 S1) Voltage High
With your key in the ignition switch and in the off position, switch key to on (not to start), then back to off, then on, off again, then on a third time. If you have trouble codes they will read on your odometer display. For example: P0303, etc. When it is done displaying codes or if there are no codes, it will read P done.
Usually diconnecting the battery cable for a few minutes and then reconnecting it will reset the computer That was way back in the old days. Now the computors retain history codes and the only way to clear them is by using a diagnostic computer and only does current codes and not history codes.
you can either purchase a computer programmer ($200-$350+) that will allow you to check and clear codes as well as adjust computer settings for maximum performance or take the vehicle to most auto parts stores that can check the codes for free.
Hi, Two ways to clear the codes: 1) Scan Tool or Code Reader that can clear the codes. 2) Repair the issue causing the code and WAIT until diagnostic system runs AND passes the diagnostic that failed. Good Luck!
After repair, you use a scan tool or you unhook battery.
Diagnostic codes are generated by your on-board computer. They tell you what problems the computer has identified with your engine. The codes are numbers. The code numbers are read by an instrument that plugs into a special jack under the dash. Auto parts stores often will check your diagnostic codes for free, or you can have your dealer do it.
It is a diagnostic tool that communicates with the computers on the vehicle. It is used to read and clear codes, watch sensor data, and for programming functions. It is a diagnostic tool that communicates with the computers on the vehicle. You need to have a diagnostic meter to read the codes, then book to tell you what they mean.
I am sorry but you don't and you will need one to clear codes after the repair.
Auto Zone will check your computer codes for FREE... They can also clear them.
You need a diagnostic computer to clear the codes. A po400 refers to a leak in the fuel vapor system. Clearing the code without repairing the problem will do no good as the light will come back on.
Disconnect the negative cable (the black one) from the battery, and wait about 10 minutes. This should reset the codes. '96 and newer have OBD II, that has a port you connect a diagnostic tool to so the codes are reset by the device.
With a scan tool.
