p0170 is a generic code and it can be caused by number of issues
volume air flow sensor failed (inside MAF sensor)
injector failed
incorrect fuel pressure
air drawn in from gaps in gaskets, seals, etc
O2 sensor failed
engine coolant temperature sensor failed
barometric pressure sensor failed
exhaust leak
use of incorrect fuel
then of course ECM/PCM fail
However, if the engine runs good try to clean the MAF sensor it may help.

Yes it will cause it for sure. You will get DTC of P0170/P0173. Car will drive rough.

Were you able to fix this? I have 5 codes on my 2000 Mazda millenia and 4 of them are same as above :-)The codes I have are:- P0173P0431 P0105P1173P0170 The last repair shop i went told me that it could be a vacuum leak... I am yet to fix these......
