Try lubricating the latch with WD-40, and then working the mechanisim back and forth for a bit. Make sure that the latch is moving all the way to the 'open' position, as failure to open properly can cause the latch not to engage.
I too just had this problem. Last weekend i replaced the Trunk Struts, i ordered them offline and replaced them myself. I have no mechanic experience and it was a pretty easy fix. The struts coasted roughly 20 dollars a piece, you need 2. The hardest part of the new installation was undoing the screws. If your problem is a latch that won't open the rear hatch, I had to remove the interior panel and readjust the linkage from the handle to the latch at the bottom of the door. It is a press fit that can be snapped apart & then tightened up with minimal tools.
Nick doesnt like when girls are to forward, meaning that they come on too stong or are too pushy.
doesnt matter. what youre asking is too specific. if you want to get signed, observe what is offered to you and see if their approach is comfortable to you. the labels come to you, you dont go to them

shocks/struts have nothing to do with how high the car rides.... you have bad springs, or too much junk in the trunk...
I don't know if this is the problem you are having, but if your trunk won't latch properly because the latch won't reach the U-shaped hook it latches onto, it may be that it is the hook rather than the latch that has moved. I had this problem with my car. The hook, which is connected to the car with two screws, had moved down over time so that the latch would no longer reach it. Even though the latch was working fine, the trunk wouldn't close because there was too much distance between the latch and the hook. I solved the problem on my car by simply loosening the screws on the hook, sliding the hook up and retightening the screws. .
It sounds like a problem with the remote, if you have one, stuck in the "open" position. Otherwise use an oil penetrant and work the latch manually until it returns to its normal position. Note: it could be stuck in the closed or shut position too, but less likely. Then you would need to try and get the latch itself open, even though the trunk lid is already open.
Apparantly Someone Shut the trunk Lid Too Hard And Broke the Auto Latch Assembly . They are Very easy to Break You Can Either repair it yourself Or take it to A dealer .Either way after repair you shut the lid with little or no pressure ....DONT SHUT THE LID FAST OR HARD.....

Strutmasters sells an aftermarket trunk latch that will install in place of the old pull down motor/latch assembly. it's cheap and inexpensive to do. I just ordered one for my 1992 Lincoln Town Car. http://www.strutmasters.com/catalog.php?cat=2 im sorry to say this but it sounds like the pull down moter went out. i have had a few people "slam" my trunk on my mark 7 and cause the same damage. "it closes & locks but dont sit all the way down." if that is the situation that you have, it's the part on the body of the car. it has a plug ( elect. ) they were made of plastic so get a "new" part. it is also best not to use a junkyard part, simply because you cant tell if it has been "slam" damadged! with a little patiance its not too hard to replace. it took me a few hrs to change mine out. This is not an answer so much as a question: Can the latch be replaced with a non-moveable, fixed one from say a 92 Marquis or Crown Victoria? I simply removed the latch and motor assembly from the trunk, took the latch and motor assembly apart, set the worm screw so the latch was in the seated position, put the motor and latch assembly back together, reinstalled the motor and latch assembly in the trunk leaving the motor unplugged, and then isolated the electrical connection with a small plastic bag and tape and tucked it in under the carpet.

Cassius proposes the murder of Anthony, and brutus opposes it because he doesnt want it all to become too bloody. also, he doesnt want people to believe that they were killed out of anger and envy.
A latch can be found at hardware stores. You will probably have to rivet or put in screws. Some cabinet shops have them too.
