The factory master code cannot be reprogrammed...however you can program a personal code that is easier to remember. on my 2003 this is the procedure: 1. enter the 5 digit master code. 2. press 1/2 3. enter your own 5 digit code. 4. lock the vehicle. 5. test your new code. I removed the master code from my vehicle so that it can't be copied by the guy at the local car wash or local garage.
The keyless entry receiver is under the console - behind the screens it's the temp and compass
Above your rearview mirror there should be a small black 'ball' (extending from the roof of the car). That is your module. If it's not there, I'm not sure if your Jeep has it. You can always refer to the owner's manual (you can snag one from eBay cheap if you don't already have it) or drop by your Jeep dealership to have them find out for you. Hope this helps!
Must be and can only be programmed by and authorized Jeep (this also means Chrysler or Dodge) dealer. Cost around $20.00. Do yourself a favor and take BOTH remotes with you. When they reprogram, both need to be programmed in tandem.
Have to go into body computer with DRB3 to disable horn honk when locking vehicle.
Use the key. The keyless remote only unlocks the doors and doesn't govern how you start the car. If you can't get in the car, try using the ignition key for the door. Sometimes the two are keyed the same. Otherwise, you're going to have to get a new keyfob.
it has to be done by the dealer. =(
You have to program it with a DRB (Scan tool).
It requires the dealer's scan tool.
I had the same problem. Google "keyless entry remote 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee".
The only way to program keyless entry is with a very expensive diagnostic tool called "Launch" or go to nearest dealer for programming.
dealer has to do it with factory scan tool
The keyless entry system must be programmed with an OBD II tool which the dealer or locksmith has. Sorry that this is not the answer your looking for, I didn't want to hear it either.
Check instructions in the users manual.
YOU CAN FINE ALMOST ANY KEYLESS ENTRY ON EBAY AND FOR A GOOD PRICE.. GOOD LUCK.........

It was part of an option package
Sadly this is gonna require a visit to the dealer. Plan on spending $40 or so to get this done. Every Jeep from 1996 or so onward will need a dealer program to get keyless working.
