First you have to remove the light cluster that has the marker lights and such. I just went through this so I had to find it all the hard way. The local Ford dealer was no help at all. To remove the cluster there are two mounting bolts that go through the metal subframe. Theay are about 8 inches apart and really hard to see. But, take the nut off of the both of those and the light cluster comes right out. Then, you should be able to see the headlight assy and see how to remove it.

When replacing the rear light bulbs open the rear hatch look at the tail light assembly, you will see small bolts securing the assembly to frame. Also look between the bumper & light assembly, you will see a lower bolt attaching to frame. remove bolts, gently tug assembly upward & outward. look at the back you will see the sockets that the bulbs go in. To remove twist the socket to remove from assembly-replace with correct type bulb-have someone apply brakes or turn on the light to verify you have fixed problem-once corrected reassembly in reverse order. I do not beleive your jeep uses bulbs in the console. I have a 2000 grand cherokee and it uses a light strip that is part of the console and can only be replaced with the shifter assembly....... I plan to cut the wires from the light strip and install a pep boys console light that uses replacable bulbs....probably will just lay it in there as long as it is protected and safe... Good luck
