1. Remove trim around shift lever in console.
2. Remove two screws at the front of the opening holding the trim around
the cup holder.
3. Remove the cup holder trim, and unplug the lighter socket.
(Held in with clips, take care not to damage it when snapping it out.)
4. Remove the two cluster bracket screws under the radio.
5. Remove the cluster with the upper vents, radio and heater controls.
(Held in with clips, take care not to damage it when snapping it out.)
6. Unplug everything going to the cluster.
7. Remove three screws holding fan and temperature control module.
8. Remove four screws holding radio.

I do not beleive your jeep uses bulbs in the console. I have a 2000 grand cherokee and it uses a light strip that is part of the console and can only be replaced with the shifter assembly....... I plan to cut the wires from the light strip and install a pep boys console light that uses replacable bulbs....probably will just lay it in there as long as it is protected and safe... Good luck
i mounted my antenna in the center of the front windsheld in the flat spot by the air intake, run the cord through the firewall (make sure to go through the rubber grommet, its a pain, but if not it will eventualy cut through the antenna) after that figure out were you are going to mount the receiver and take off the center part of the dash, you will have plenty of room to feed the wire through
