It's easy. First, make sure that the ash tray cover is in the up postion. Next, remove the shifter cover. Just grap onto the cover at the top and pull up. There are two screws at the bottom of the ash tray that need to be removed. Remove the ash tray and disconnect the plug to the lighter. Next, remove the cover on the hazard light. Just use a small screwdriver to pry off the cover. Be carefull not to break the clips. There are two torx screws at the top and two at the bottom. Remove these and the entire unit comes out. Remove the plugs to the hazard light, climate controls and radio. The radio unit attached to the bracket separately from the climate control unit. Just remove the screws from the bracket an it will drop right out. Hope this helps.

Could be the connector to the CD unit ( I had same problem on my XKR ) In the trunk take the side panel off surrounding the CD changer and check the connector that plugs into the car wiring loom. Mine had 2 corroded pins, I cut the wires and soldered jumpers across the connector. UK_Mike
Leave the car parked unlocked on a large city street overnight. The radio should be gone by morning.

How do you replace thermostat housing in 1999 Jaguar XK8? Can't seem to remove bolts without having to remove value covers. Help
In a 1997 Jaguar XK8, the diagnostic port is located under the driver's side dashboard, near the steering column. You may need to remove a cover or panel to access it. The port is typically a 16-pin OBD-II connector, used for connecting diagnostic tools to retrieve trouble codes and perform vehicle diagnostics.
the battery is in the trunk on the righr of thr spare tire...
The Jaguar XK8 retails from $79,000 for a coupe to $85,000 for a convertible model of Jaguar XK touring. The Jaguar XK ranges from $84, 500 for a coupe to $90,500 for a convertible model.
Yes a Parrot CK3100, it works in my 96 XK8 (97 MY if you are American)
It's on the right side of the trunk above the CD changer. Just pull the cover on the side of the trunk out of the way. It's very flexible, you won't damage it.
Valet mode disables the electric trunk release and the "home link functions" for security reasons when valet parking. The "valet key" will not open the trunk
