I have seen 3 ways radios in 240 are held in and the worse is later models. This has a flat piece of metal sticking out of the back of the radio that fits into a bracket under the dash. The flat metal has a barb that Sticks down so that when the radio is pushed in place the barb goes in front of the bracket and locks it in place. You need to remove the glove box and reach behind the radio with pliers and squeeze the barb up so the flat piece can be backed out of the bracket. Good luck.
The next worse is having spring catches along the sides of the radio so a flat piece of metal needs to be slid along the radio to release it.
The radio suppression relay on a 1990 Volvo 240 is located in the engine compartment, specifically near the battery. It is typically mounted on the inner fender or near the fuse box. This relay helps to reduce electrical interference caused by the vehicle's ignition system. If you're having issues with the radio, checking this relay can be a good starting point.

When two sounds at frequencies of 240 Hz and 243 Hz occur simultaneously, the beat frequency is determined by the difference between the two frequencies. In this case, the beat frequency is 243 Hz - 240 Hz, which equals 3 Hz. This means you would hear a fluctuation in volume at a rate of 3 beats per second.

To replace the dash lights on a 1988 Volvo 240 wagon, first, remove the dashboard cover by unscrewing any retaining screws and gently prying it off. Next, locate the bulb holders on the back of the instrument cluster, twist them counterclockwise to remove, and replace the burned-out bulbs with new ones. Finally, reassemble the dashboard by reversing the steps, ensuring all connections are secure before securing the cover back in place. Test the lights to ensure they are functioning properly.
