I have a '98 Jeep classic with same problem. It may have been a design flaw, because many of the Jeeps I've been in have the same problem. As far as eliminating the noise for good, good luck. But the easiest quick fix is done by either coating the hinge PIN with grease, or, spraying some wd-40 (or another type of lubricant) on the hinge PIN then open and close the door a few times to ensure that the lube/spray is getting worked around. It usually lasts for about 4 months or so until the noise starts again.
