I had a problem shifting my suburban out of park. It ended up being the brake switch, it tells the transmission that you are pushing down the brake.
No, they will not interchange.
A 1999 Jeep transmission does not have a modulator valve.
The most compatible and completely interchangeable transmission that can be used with a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited is the 45RFE transmission. This is from a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Only this model year is compatible with the 1999 model year as the vehicles shared 127 of the exact same parts.
My guess would be that this is a built in protective mechanism, probably in the computer system, that protects your jeep from having it's transmission and drive train ripped out and broken into little peices. These vehicles were never meant to put down short time quarter miles. Why would you want to drive like that anyway?
yes unless it is in neutral
Under the pan on the valve body!
Sounds like the magnets!

It will fit, But it won't WORK. The 1999 transmission is electronic and requires a computer and speed sensors to make it shift right. You need one from 1987 down.

The 1999 Chevrolet Suburban speed sensor is located on the back of the transmission. The speed sensor will be in the upper left-hand corner.

A bad transmission gear can cause your 1999 Nissan frontier to shift hard. Low transmission fluid can also cause the transmission to shift hard.
